Miss Universe
2025 Acrylic on Canvas 58 x 75 cm (Impasto technique / Texture)
This was my very first attempt at the impasto technique. I squeezed a generous amount of paint directly onto the canvas and, using a palette knife for the first time, began to move the colours around freely. Aside from the face and neck, the entire piece was created using only the palette knife.
The result was brilliant—and I truly loved the process of bringing this lady to life.
At the time, I hadn’t chosen a name for the piece. But when she finally emerged, with the universe swirling around her, I thought: “Oh, Miss Universe—you are!”
