MYSTIC SERIES (Four Paintings)
2024 Acrylic on Canvas 29 x 29 cm

I titled this series The Mystic because I am deeply drawn to this archetype. Mystics throughout history have lived in continual union with the unseen, spiritual realms—a state I find both fascinating and inspiring. As an artist, I am constantly exploring how to weave this mystical dimension into my own life and creative process. Creating this series feels like one way of beginning to answer that question.

Butterfly Effect
The butterfly effect—a core concept in chaos theory—illustrates how small changes within a non-linear system can lead to significant outcomes over time. It is often said that a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil could ultimately cause, or prevent, a tornado in Texas. This metaphor beautifully captures the profound interconnection of all things.

I created this piece as a reflection on the way our dreams take form. So often, something meaningful in our lives begins with a quiet insight or a heartfelt desire—small moments that set powerful transformations in motion.
Homecoming
I have often asked myself the question: "Where is my true home?"

When I was younger, I travelled widely and lived in many different places for varying lengths of time. Often, I would feel at home in a particular place for a while—only to sense, later, that it was time to move on.

As I grew older, I began to realize that home may not necessarily be a physical location, but rather a state of mind. With greater self-acceptance—both mental and physical—I now feel more at peace within myself, and more at home each day.

Homecoming is inspired by this insight. The red on the goldfinch’s face emphasises the importance of bringing what lives in the mind down into the heart—for home is, ultimately, where the heart is.
Love Will Find the Way
I sometimes struggle with worries about how I can earn a proper living as an artist. This piece was created as a gentle reminder.

Love reminded me: if I continue doing what I love, following my heart, and taking aligned action, I will be guided to where I am meant to be.

I now carry this principle into everything I do—for where there is love, there is always a way.

Lunar
I love everything about the moon! It reminds me of my own feminine nature—mysterious, intuitive, and ever-changing.

The moon, with its hidden dark side that cannot be seen from Earth, mirrors the mystery within us. Perhaps the Divine Feminine is like the moon itself—moving through phases, shifting and flowing in her own natural rhythm.

I love painting the Luna moth nestled in my lady’s hair—there is something enchanting about its delicate beauty and luminous name.
