Have you ever looked up into the night sky and been awestruck by the shining stars above? If so, you’re not alone. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the stars. Orion was the first constellation I ever recognised, and I spent countless nights watching it from my childhood home in Malaysia.
The night sky, full of stars, always brings me solace. It helps me stay grounded and humble by reminding me how small and insignificant I am compared to the vast universe. Yet, knowing that I am made of stardust, maybe I am not so insignificant after all. Perhaps my life does matters—and I have been given life on this earth for a reason.
This piece is inspired by the stars and by the paintings of two artists I deeply admire: Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night and Maxfield Parrish’s The Stars.
